Activities
Through our life history assessment and talking to the residents day by day we find out individuals’ interests. Where possible we provide them with the opportunity to pursue that activity or interest. This is achieved by a variety of activity programmes both within the homes and in the community.
Inside activities
On a daily basis we engage our residents in various activities including individual interests and hobbies, discussions, bingo, arts and crafts, board games, quizzes, skittles, sing-alongs, relaxation sessions, gardening, exercise and pampering sessions including manicures, cosmetics and hairdressing.
Holidays
We offer many of our residents the opportunity to enjoy holidays and short breaks within the United Kingdom with accompanying staff. The residents and staff are involved in planning these and all look forward to and enjoy the holidays.
Outside activities and occupations
We employ activity workers to take residents on regular trips. Destinations include the Cotswolds for tea and cream cakes or a meal,the numerous local country parks and gardens, Stratford -upon-Avon, Bourton on the Water and Birmingham markets
Residents are also taken to concerts and entertainment at local theatres and on local shopping trips.
We liaise closely with the many local mental health day centres and services which are attended by our residents using Edenplace’s transport when required.
