Edenplace is a specialist mental health care company registered under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 to undertake following:
- Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care
- Diagnostic and screening procedures
- Treatment of disease, disorder or injury
- Accommodation for persons who require treatment for substance misuse
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide nursing care for individuals with mental health disorders and we specialise in care of individuals with complex needs. These include schizophrenia, bi-polar disorders, depression, and personality disorders. We also provide support for individuals with Korsakoff’s syndrome and other cognitive impairments.
Edenplace does not provide placements for individuals whose primary diagnosis is dementia.
We are able to provide care for individuals under a guardianship or Community Treatment Orders. However, we do not provide care for individuals under other sections of the Mental Health Act.
Our highly dedicated and professional clinical team consists of experienced qualified mental health nurses, nursing assistants and activity staff.
We have a fleet of vehicles for transporting residents. These include a fourteen-seat minibus and two eight-seat multi-purpose vehicles. Driven by activity staff with support from the care and nursing staff they are used to provide recreational trips for residents several times a week and to maintain their links with primary care services.
We ensure that new residents are able to access the services of local mental health services, general practitioner and other primary care services.
There are systematic assessments of each resident’s mental, physical, social and spiritual needs which form their basis of care plans which are evaluated and reviewed regularly with the participation of the resident and their relatives and carers where appropriate.
We always seek, and respond to, the views expressed by residents and their families and regularly hold residents’ meetings and conduct resident surveys.
Our professional cooks in Edenplace Mental Health Nursing Home and Ashley House provide excellent meals using fresh ingredients. All dietary needs are catered for and wherever possible the residents have a range of menu options for meals and snacks.
For residents who are unable to visit local services we are able to facilitate visiting professional services such as chiropody, optician, dentist, hairdresser, aromatherapy massage and pastoral counselling.
Edenplace’s various facilities provide an integrated pathway of placements, from full nursing care to supervised group homes, allowing individuals to progress through a range of placements as their needs change.
